Off with Their Heads!

In 1980 my neighbor's niece Valerie, who was three years old at the time, happened upon a number of potted geraniums that her mother was about to plant along the walkway to their front porch.  Her mother had gone into the house for something, so little Valerie took advantage of the opportunity to snip the head off of every one of her mother's geraniums.

When her mother returned, she exclaimed in horror, "Valerie! How could you do such a bad thing?"

Valerie firmly replied, "Mommy, you know better than to leave scissors out where I can get them!"
